How's it going...
The HUGE question is what isotopes did the polimaster find???
Just wondering if you've seen any spikes away from the unit?
Are you using the same filter unit? How long has it been in service?
You may be experiencing wear from the magnets / brushes as the St.Charles station did.
Notice the new St. Charles unit after motor breakin? Started out with much higher reads than your unit but after the initial breakin period the reads are basically normal numbers again. Last reads (today) are about 1/2 of your numbers.
How about giving us some reads away from the filter and filter unit using over time methods to get a confirmation average...
AND test for isotopes for at least 8 hours with your polymaster and post em here for future reference.
If the unit contains Cobalt fragments you will see it with any counter so it doesn't really solve the mystery. And this type of discharge will adhere to the back of the filter so testing the filter off the unit doesn't really help.
You may need to research a alternative brand for a different motor type for your filter unit when you replace it.
Please let us know the isotope test results...
...If you need help with this contact me or read some of my other posts on isolated testing.
By the way, this is the same type of situation after filter change(s) that the St.Charles station had with a wore out motor so you may simply be seeing weather conditions.
Any wind pressure on these units will stress the motor and cause a release of materials from the brushes and motor core...
I hope I'm right (for everyone's sake) about this but let's test and know for sure!!!!
Many Thanks.

Looking at my screen shot above, I had detection of elevated levels. I confirmed the presence of radiation using my Polimaster next to the filter of my unit/station. I also used my InspectorEXP to confirm. The spike seen prior to the filter change also helps to confirm detection of radiation was seen before the filter change.
I am guilty of not changing my filter regularly. At $15 a filter (Holmes HEPA) I try to hold out as long as I can. Even with an old/restricted filter, changes in current radiation levels are easily seen.
