Tested for 1 hour with the Inspector. The bag was removed from the indoor use vacuum cleaner and placed in a plastic bag. I placed the Inspector on top of the vacuum bag.
July 24-27, 2014
Total 1 hour count 2521 cpm
Divided by 60 (minutes) = 42 cpm.

I decided to let the GC sit on the bag for days and look at the graph and let the computer average it out.
These are the results:
Average is 40cpm
Maximum of 62
Minimum of 18
Microsieverts ranged from .1 to .13 (not liking that at all!)

The Inspector sitting on the window sill picks up an indoor average of 32 cpm

Rads must be coming in through the heater/ac vents and shoes (even though every one takes their shoes off except one person- grrr)
It also could be picking up rads because that vacuum is used to vacuum the inside door entrance/exit door mat.

It would be a good thing to have a hepa filter vacuum cleaner if one can manage to get one.

Woo hoo...

Great to see you posting...

...that's what I'm talkin about!

Yea, You can see that there was a very quick decay rate there. If the wife changes the bag and doesn't understand this then she's in the crosshairs!

Was it measured through a garbage bag?

What model counter do you have?

Use only hepa approved vacuums and I like to place wet paper towels over the hole and roll the bag down slowly (so you won't release any dust if possible).

Dangerous stuff period.
