Hey islander,

Haven't heard from you in a while...

I found a lab that will test this stuff for you free!!!

Please make sure you date the samples and include a short paper with explanation(s) of the ashes origin, burning time, cleaning dates, etc...

...also definitely send your current home air filter too.

Bag it in a plastic trash bag before moving even one step with the filter.

Not a bad idea to send a car filter as well.

When you have your ash / air filter samples ready to ship...

Click below...

https://www.mcssl.com/SecureCart/Checko ... s=1&bhqs=1

PLEASE post the results here when you get them!

Hope to hear from you soon...

Apparently they changed the form on the test site so here's a updated link to get your samples tested...

I've been up on a mountain, central Wa. and checked a friends wood ashes, he had a small dust pan of ash and the Inspector GC went straight up to 160 CPM, it was fir and pine. I'm convinced the the problem is everywhere, so , Everytime Radiation Comes On The Scene, We Lose The Planet . Not happy about this , also thanks again for the help. Will send ash and post results . Saw a lot of heavy forest that looks ill or dying, and the experts do not know why, just maybe experts are not smart after all.

Yea... All this "it's a mystery" from officials in the face of the evidence we have from the Fuku emissions data makes you wonder.

While I agree that jumping to conclusions is a bad thing, very few have been forthcoming with the actual isotope readings or the correlations between them and the disease outbreaks we are seeing on the west coast.

Hopefully http://radtest4u.com can give us all a clue on the isotopes involved in your readings/area...

...Be sure to send good descriptions with these samples, I feel sure they will be interested in doing more comprehensive tests on them.

Thanks for being proactive! We need you (and more like you) to get these problems out in the open.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Recently , while in Wa. I was able to tell a large apple grower and others in other locations about how the burning of wood concentrates the radiation to dangerous levels, and I'm not done yet .

Thanks for your help EB7, been a while , and considering submitting results of testing by K14U Inc. . This is results returned to me, dated 6/14/15 . Gamma Analysis Report . Gross G-M count rate 197 Counts per Minute. Background count rate 29 CPM. Net G-M count rate 168 CPM, Now the Spectrometer- Background scan 109 Counts per second, 8.4 u rem/hour. Gamma Ray Scan 113 Counts per second, 9 u rem/hour. Isotope Identified Potassium 40 . the statement following is " The count rate identified is most likely due to the concentration of this radioisotope in the wood ash'. I thought the spectrometer showed specifically the frequency, so would be certain results ? can you help me out on this ? Also an excellent book, The Elements states about Potassium that about one hundredth of one percent of the potassium atoms in the world are the radioactive isotope 40k. On the web is a report of cesium-137 in wood ash, Results of a Nationwide Survey, Dated October 21, 1992, by Stewart A. Farber . What are your thoughts on this, also I sent in a small amount of wood ash, which had less CPM .

Did you send them a car or home ac or purifier filter?

You can simply cut a piece of a ac filter (using precautions) to the size of a padded envelope to send it without having to send the whole thing.

Best indicators are car filters, just be very careful not to breathe the dust or carry it inside and for sure wear gloves and a (p-100)mask.

So they told you it was potassium, it sure sounds better than the alternative....

And had too be some relief to know that it seems to be mostly p-40.

I'll try to check on the sample but the date suggests they have disposed of it by now.

With the number of samples these guys (and gals) test you can imagine how fast they would fill up with this kind of stuff.

Sounds like good news to me but I'm sure you would feel better if they had given you more info..

Let me know...

PS:
If you send a piece of a ac filter place it in a plastic bag and carefully cut a piece (through the bag leaving the plastic bag pieces covering the sample) and place it in a padded envelope with the plastic bag pieces you cut through still covering the sample....

Gloves and a mask should be used when handling ANY air filter until you get the results. Hopefully it will read p-40 also...

If you already sent one let me know what they told you...

Good luck and please stay in touch.

Haven't sent an air filter in to be checked yet, but a good idea. On my returned results, what concerns me as a question is the 113 cpm per second of Gamma. First I'm not familiar with spectrometer readings in seconds, is that value related to how high the Kev spike is on the monitor ? Second I know I killed a couple cherry trees a little over a year ago after putting on too much wood ash as fertilizer, before I happened to check my ash in my wood burner. So I'm feeling a little more irritated about the lack of truth to the public . Was at the beach here in Oregon and quite a bit of green scum at waters edge, algae bloom for sure , wish I had my Inspector with me then, and will in the next couple days.

Based on your concerns, I just read up a bit on radiation detectors, and GM tubes are not the only type used for laboratory measurements. At http://www.research.northwestern.edu/ors/safety/radiation/lab-surveys.html, they say that scintillation detectors are best for measuring gamma, and can be orders of magnitude more sensitive. So if the sensor your lab K14U Inc. uses is one of these, 113 cps is not a surprise. Their web site http://www.radtest4u.com/ says it is a "Berkeley Nucleonics SAM 940 Defender / Revealer Radiation Isotope Identifier". You're right they don't explain fully; it almost seems like background Gamma is 109 and the sample Gamma is 113, with the net then being 4 cps. Which is entirely out of line with the net GM count. But assuming the SAM 940 is accurate, Potassium 40 it is. I checked my local sources of concentrated Potassium but found no increase in CPM (my own old-ish pail of wood ash, a bag of fertilizer, and bananas). Your higher counts must be due to P40 in the wood that became more concentrated in the ashes. Maybe some tree stands have higher levels than others?
