OK so lies in the way of truth and such... But, I "coulda run" my freezer from one common propane bottle (a small flame like a lighter) for months and ammonia heat in a column makes cold, bitter cold, wildly cold and dry lack of heat, COLD!!!

And in the case of Fuku this would be free cooling if someone will decide to rig some simple tools and get it done!!!, after install the cooling is free!!!) or as the experts said "Too cheap to meter".

All we need now is a heat source right?

How about 3 rocks in the ground for heat? Ya can't turn em off so use that power to turn heat into cold right?

Reactive stuff is the scarerrrrrry part... So think twice if you are going to introduce a reactive substance (like epoxy concrete) into the most reactive place on earth without knowing the outcome...

... There are thousands of elements these reactors have "made" that haven't even been named yet...

Let's name one FUCKUNIUM...

...sorry about the language :-)

So why do you think the ice wall didn't work?

Here's what I think...

If they seal the underground portion of this disaster they open up a Pandora's box of other more immediate and very serious problems.

1) Trying to contain all that water will cause liquefaction in the soil surrounding the buildings with even the smallest earthquake.

They simply can't handle the water that's both flowing through and being pumped into the buildings to cool the blobs right now...

Sealing the site will cause them to have to handle an additional 400+ tons of water every day.

2)The water will eventually flow right over (or under) any barrier they produce.

This is obvious and no barrier will stop it, it's simply a matter of time before it fails due to breech either under or over any ice (or solid) wall...

3) holding water in the grounds surrounding the site will cause the local rads to concentrate and increase to a point that the whole site will be uninhabitable.

Not saying it's not that way now but containing that water will cause rad levels to skyrocket for all the world to see.

So I don't think they ever tried to seal the site...

...they simply tried to use the cooling efects to lower temps around the damaged reactors/buildings.

WE need a permeable solution to stop (help filter) this stuff from escaping.

The only real answer in the short term is zeolite...

...and let the zeolite filter (at least) some of these rads.

But that's a very expensive and complex job.

i say they should put up an onion tent around the buliding that thier dismantling !! we use this system up north in Canada too pour large areas of concrete this would then contain it too some degree then have hepa filters with a duckin system in place to remove fine particles in the air and slowly dismantle it ....hummm just a thought !

Yepper!!!

When we hear of the removal of the "roof" (which is only a tent to begin with) from these buildings to (so called) clean up this mess without placing another bigger tent over them it's alarming!!!

The right people need to get a handle on this situation, money be damned...

The solution for pollution is NOT dilution, period.

Great ideas are the direct result of experience!

Good to hear from you.
