Most of the Beta sites are down tonight. Does anyone know why?

I understand that the EPA has taken the beta stations offline.

Thanks for the tip. We will need to watch for spikes on the other EPA stations.

More people should setup an outside 24/7 radiation monitoring station like mine or better. I spend about $150 a year just on HEPA filter replacements not including the electricity used to run it. It's worth it even more now since the EPA has shutdown the beta detection stations.

The EPA Gamma stations are also not showing up on the NETC map. But in this case, the EPA sites themselves are not down. The last NETC data posting was July 13th, but the graphs at https://www.epa.gov/radnet/near-real-time-and-laboratory-data-state show continuous data to today (some show offline bits but not all together). Is there something up with the server?

I'm only aware (by NETC programmer) EPA beta sites are down permanently due to EPA.

My Mazur 9000 shows an average of 36cpm...indoors....my hepa filters for my AC always show high cpm when I change them around 300 cpm, but I think that is due to static possibly....if they sit for a couple of days it goes away...maybe Radon not sure?....
Have not noticed a higher count average in about 6 months overall with my Mazur on my desk...I remember seeing much higher a year ago...mybe that was from the WIP plant...

The EPA shutdown much of their RadNet monitoring stations back in 2011 when the first Fukushima plume past over the United States.

Recently I understand the EPA has shutdown their beta monitoring stations, possibly soon their gamma stations too.

If you do not already have a station of your own setup (I've explained how for years now for less than $100) your only choice is relying on independent private stations like mine.
