Starting a new thread specific to Radon so people can post their experiences and findings. I was alerted to a problem in my house when my Inspector Alert started showing 270 CPM when the heater was on, and found there was inadequate venting in the crawlspace beneath the floor. Levels down there with the Inspector Alert were a little over 300 CPM with an air filter setup similar to the ones we use for NETC reporting. We were basically distributing Radon throughout the house whenever the heater was on.

I purchased a Radon specific detector and just set it up - it seems to require 2 days of operation to show a value.

After setting my air purifier/Inspector Alert back up in my room to collect background levels again, I noticed I was still seeing over 200 CPM. I was expecting it to be lower as the Radon should have decayed. Changing the filter with a new one caused the levels to drop back down to background. What else could have stuck to the filter to continue to show elevated CPM 24 hours later?

That is odd 24 hours later.

Does the whole filter read that or just one part?

Does it hold around 200 CPM or do you still see the decoy happening?
