Hi!

I was wondering why there is no tracking system along the central coast of California. From San Jose, California all the way to Los Angeles is not being monitored. I would think it is an important link in finding out where and how much radiation is rising.

Very interesting determination. I realized this after 3/11. My own cynical thought is that the Central Coast will not have a tracking system until Diablo Canyon is decommissioned. Otherwise, the truth of the amount of their legal venting might be known. Get yourself a Geiger counter is my only advice. The other thing is to know, (since I assume you are around Pismo Beach), is that there is no evacuation for Diablo Canyon disasters. None. Nada. Got this straight from the local emergency services. It does not exist so get yourself a go bag, and also all that you need to shelter in. An air quality resource employee told me they had a go bag complete with tennis shoes at all times in her trunk. And who best to follow their lead, but us?

JSchdmidt,

That was my thought too! Netc, do you know of anyone that wants to participate on central coast? I'm not there yet. Jschmidt, I got your message and responded back. Did you receive it?

I agree, we need more Radiation Monitoring Stations in Central California. I want to thank Turlock, CA station for all the help from that site. The EPA has stopped Fresno and Bakersfield reporting again. These sites have been very high in the last few months.

I'm considering setting up a monitoring site. I'm in Watsonville, CA

This is great news!

While a unit setup inside a house is not worthless, your best detections/graph will be with the geiger counter outside on the intake filter of an air purifier like mine & others here.
