The Vallecitos nuclear research site, owned by GE and Hitachi. It is a decommissioned BWR plant that is very hard to find news about.

Interestingly, I found an article stating that the high level waste would be shipped to WIPP!

Ooh, and I just found a .pdf of communication about this plant to the water board wanting to expand the use of waste water to.. Landscaping?? Wild.

Wow, I just found this page - Waste Lands that has an amazing article on this site. They researched MOX fuel here!

The internet is great, I even found a signoff from one of their managers on what compliant vessel they will use to transport waste, with an image of it even.

And here's a letter to the NRC from March that outlines an ongoing decommissioning cost for that plant of around 88 million bucks. I thought this was to be completed already..

Can't find Lat/Long, but there is a city list at https://cdxnode64.epa.gov/radnet-public/query.do. I had to "view source" to be able to copy the list to the clipboard, and it needs some text parsing to clean it up. It's also too big to paste here. Hopefully there is a better list, but at least this one's current.

We posts "Alert sites" on the webpage, at the bottom is a link to the EPA stations that are offline.
