Quote:
When doctors and physicists talk about radiation exposure to the human body, they often use millisieverts (mSv) as the measurement. Each year, Americans are typically exposed to a radiation dose of about 3 mSv, just from the atmosphere. By comparison, a chest x-ray delivers a radiation dose of 0.02 mSv. Nuclear stress tests expose patients to a larger dose, but it is not considered to be dangerous.

Please pay close attention to the disclaimer within the above paragraph that says "...but it is not considered to be dangerous."

This does NOT mean it is not dangerous!

The real question is, do we fully understand how dangerous this test really is?

Marie Curie who did pioneering research on radioactivity thought she understood radiation exposure too, but later realized that she didn't.

If interested, it is an interesting read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marie_Curie

When thinking about the Tc-99m radioactive tracer dye, I can not help but remember this video that AntiProton made showing a relative of his after having the test.
