After just getting back on the chart, I lost my geiger tube. I'll be down until a replacement gets here. Looks like I'm the only station in North Idaho.

Sorry to hear about your tube failure. What model geiger counter are you using and how old is it?

I'm running the GMC-320 Plus, a couple of years old. The tube went out due to cats playing in the window where the detector is between the window and the screen. They dug it out and pow! it hit the floor. It hit a spike to almost 400 then stopped working. I now keep the window closed. The replacement cost was pretty reasonable and replacement easy. About $40. After a couple of weeks I'm back listed as a reliable station. :D

Sorry to hear it...

Kinda like the ole light bulb falling...

Gotta find a new bulb for it...

...and try some dielectric grease (auto parts store) on the clips

Let me know if you need any help finding a tube and/or getting it running again!

Glad to hear your unit is fixed and at such a low cost too. If that was a pancake geiger tube, there is no way a replacement would be that cheap.
