As a followup to my initial post I thought I would provide some background on these AQI reads in a effort to better understand the geography and other problems in this area...
We need to find someone in the 45000+ population in this area to put up a rad monitor as this could be a great "tale tail" of contamination not only at that location but also elsewhere in the US.
...This area has historically been a problem since the Owens River was diverted into the Los Angeles Aqueduct in 1913 causing the lake to dry up..
http://www.desertusa.com/desert-califor ... slake.htmlBecause of the extensive salt accumulation over countless centuries of time, some of these dry lake basins have become veritable chemical reservoirs.
http://www.npr.org/2013/03/11/173463688 ... into-courtThat earned Owens Lake the dubious mark of being the largest single source of dust pollution in the nation.
Dust Cams are here...
http://www.gbuapcd.org/dustcam.htm... and after looking at this you can see we have a HUGE carrier of all things toxic there.
As far as I can tell there has not been any nuclear industry in this area so getting local reads from this region could be golden in understanding the contamination for the US and abroad.
Just a thought...

EPA shows particulate matter in the southern Cal. area "OFF THE CHARTS" @
500!!! Highest count possible!!! These meters are pegged!!!!
Check that these are larger particles according to the screen shot below...
I have NEVER seen anything like this.
Can we get some rad reads from the area? Please send to anyone that can help.
Look at my page to see all the data on one page...
