I am going to St. Louis, Mo over the weekend and going to record the radiation from Little Rock, Ar to St Louis, MO. I will post the results and charts later when I get Internet connection.

Arrived yesterday with two mobile units. Batteries all most empty and wires all over, like a plate of spaghetti. The Gieger counter goes to the PI computer, the PI goes to the mobile power supply which goes to use adapter that plugs into the wall. Now double the situation for the second unit. My phone will pass the radiation data to Netc.con, if only it had power. The phone battery died too. What else is left to do, my Kindle computer. I hook it up to the free Internet at the hotel and wanted to check my radiation data but the two mobile Geiger counters units were connected to Netc network, without a password and my Kindle computer was connected to the hotels network. The only solution was to wait under the phone to recharge and reconnect to that network. I will continue the saga tomorrow with radiation readings from the st Louis landfill dump. PS it smells like Shi....

Can you smell the dump while in your hotel room?

Yes, it smells so bad that within two hours, we had to leave because of headaches, and feeling sick. Here are the pictures around the St Louis Landfill, northwest of the city.
This is a picture taken from the southeast side of the landfill. The smell is overwhelming, we stay here and watch the wind blow toward us. See the streamers tied to the fence, and see the power of the wind.

Next we drove to the southwest side of the landfill. I put the Geiger counter at the fence and took the reading. The southwest side in covered with this gray-green material that seem to hold down the smell and radiation. Test pipes are put into the ground to monitor the environment below this hillside. The radiation seem to be within the NORM for that area.

Now is the time to travel north around the landfill, but the road to close and locked. We must find a different way around the landfill.

Drove around the landfill and ended up at the Southeast side again. During the drive, the Geiger counter was recording and this is the chart.

We must leave because of the sickness that my wife and I felt be being at the landfill during the last two hours. We will try to come back on Sunday, because we are at the Conform Inn on Page St.
It is raining Sunday Morning, so we had breakfast and decided to go home to Arkansas. We did not want to take back any radiation on our clothes, bodies and in the car. So home we go.
Someone else must take over, I have decided to plan for my family because will increase all over the United States. The first step is to build an Early Warning Radiation Detector with siren to warn us went we are outside and enjoying life. Remember, radiation is an invisible force like ghosts or spirits, some will not hurt you in small quantities and others will kill you.

Thank you for the road trip information and pictures. Any idea why the graph above shot up in to the 300 cpm range? That was still just open air readings right?
