UPDATE - ISSUE RESOLVEDFor those that may be looking here for an answer to a similar problem I was having. I found out by talking to the NETC staff that my Raspberry PI unit did have one of their older versions of the software. My Raspberry PI did not have the web interface feature and did not have the speak to me feature. So when I tried both ways of getting information from my Raspberry PI I thought it was a problem with my unit. However, I'm happy to report that the staff at NETC worked out a way to fix my Raspberry PI remotely, without me having to have any real technical knowledge. They updated my Raspberry PI and got me up and running. I now have it on the WiFi, have the web interface and though I haven't tested it I should have the speaker option as well.
I originally discovered my issue because I was trying to move my Raspberry PI from the Cat5 cable on my LAN to a USB WiFi dongle.
