I just replaced my outside filter, 1:35 p.m. CST November 14, 2017.

Late Sunday evening to Monday afternoon I detected above normal radiation readings with my outside radiation monitoring station. While there is no question that these elevated radiation levels are real, I have concluded that it is a result of all the leaf burning happening. The smoke helps transport the radiation. Outside for miles around, I can smell the leaf burning and also see the haze in the sky. As evening comes, the upper atmosphere comes down bringing with it more of this (radiation filled) smoke. Our children will stay inside with our in house HEPA air purification systems running.

Today I have been seeing elevated radiation levels reported by my outside 24/7 radiation monitoring station. Looking at the NETC map (which include EPA RadNet radiation monitoring stations) the radiation appears to be traveling with the smoke from the recent fires in California. We will be staying inside during these elevated readings.

Using the governments current AirNow website, it too seems to confirm what I suspected for my area of Northern Illinois.

I've been so busy since the last recorded filter change on November 14th, I failed to change my filter on time. Today I just noticed that I failed to replace my outside radiation monitoring stations HEPA filter within my preset 30 day timeline, so I replaced it today.

I replaced my filter today: Sunday December 31st at 9:12 a.m. CST

For anyone that digs through my chart minute by minute, the filter was removed at 9:12 a.m. CST and replaced by 9:21 a.m. CST

I find that high reading interesting because with such an old restricted filter, I wouldn't expect a reading that high. I can only assume that had I changed the filter on the correct day, that reading would have been much higher.

At 12:20 p.m. CST today Saturday February 3,2016 I changed my outside HEPA radiation monitoring station filter.

Please expect a slight elevation in detection as a result.

I'd like to point out that even though I live in Northern Illinois, we are downwind of the Handford Nuclear Waste Plant with the jet stream and I have previously successfully traced radioactive detection from the West Coast to my backyard. Having said that, I must note here what I've been watching for a possible source of radiation. You can see them using water a water cannon in an attempt to reduce the amount of radioactive dust from leaving the area. I'll post it here just in case the official video is removed due to the recent detection of radioactive particles discovered outside the facility.

At 4:05 p.m. CST today Monday March 5, 2018 I changed my outside HEPA radiation monitoring station filter.

Please expect a slight elevation in radiation detection as a result due to this increased airflow.
